The White House on Tuesday declined to comment on ABC's decision to cancel "Roseanne," saying President Trump is focused on "bigger things" surrounding his agenda.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters aboard Air Force One en route to a rally in Tennessee that Trump's work on agreements with North Korea and on trade are taking up the vast majority of his time.

Asked if Barr's show should have been cancelled, Sanders responded, "That's not what the president's looking at," adding, "we have a lot bigger things going on in the country right now."

"Again, the president spent his day focused with things going on this morning," she said.

ABC cancelled the hit show on Tuesday after its star, Roseanne Barr, posted a racist tweet about Valerie Jarrett, a former aide and close confidant of President Obama.

"Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show," ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey said in a statement.

Barr, a vocal Trump supporter, went after Jarrett, who is black, writing on Twitter: "muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj." She later apologized for the tweet.

The cancellation of "Roseanne" is a stunning downfall for Barr, who garnered big ratings for the reboot of her 1990s sitcom.

Trump was pleased by her show's success and called the comedienne to offer congratulations earlier this year.
